We THANK Larry Worthington and the Recovery Cafe Clark County  for hosting this month's meeting space and providing us such a great understanding of their mission and how they are using the power of relationships and connections in their programs.  More can be found on their Facebook page.

Other meeting highlights:

Kay Roberson gave a report back and brought a print-out on the super successful Peer Pathways educational conference in Seattle.

Congratulations to Kay Roberson on receiving the2018 Cindy Willey Awardfor her commitment to Certified Peer Counseling in Washington since 2006!

Sara Angelo encouraged us to join in the upcoming Thursday October 18 SW CHAPS Network Meeting 5p-7pm at the Columbia Bank Community Room and join in the topic of Preparing for the Legislative Season where we will learn how we can effectively use our personal stories for advocacy. (flyer below)

Ren Autrey gave report back on the Residents Action Project statewide summit held recently in Yakima, and our local group's hope to organize an after-election Legislator educational meeting with a guest from the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance.  Tentative date is November 19.

Laura Ellsworth reminded us of the upcoming Severe Weather Shelter season, volunteer opportunities and other ways to help support winter weather responses when the temperatures drop. She also noted we are still hoping to find a north Clark County location to host emergency shelter space.  If you have a connection with a church or agency wanting to know how they can join in and help, contact Laura at This email address is being protected from spambots. Thank you for being a part of the SW WA Community Health Advocates and Peer Support Network even if you didn't make this last meeting. Reading information, forwarding emails and printing out flyers for the events is also part of engaging, spreading the word, and advocating! - Thank you for all you do when you can do! -- We hope to see you next time!
